Abigail came as a lost animal in search of food and water. She rescued me from a falling portion of tree by the house and I felt I needed to rescue her back and find the owner. Her story is not a happy one, this once loved dog's owner got sick and first she was put outside on a heavy chain with no dog house for protection to being set loose and dumped by a relative when the owner went to hospital then nursing home. The owner contacted me through the quick placement of flyers and newspaper ad.I was able to find out that this girl has had a hard time the past year and have made it a mission to find her a good forever home where she can get the love she so deserves. Abigail waking up in the morning to go potty is full of laughter. She opens one eye like she is saying oh no turn off the lights and then goes through a series of faces before she arises. When she gets to the door she turns around and goes out the door backwards.

Molly came to live here a few months ago with 3 other dachshunds when the owner could no longer keep them. She traveled from Ky to Indiana to learn she would no longer be in a kennel and now had to adjust to getting lots of love. Molly is the peace maker of the group but they all act like a little pack and hate to be seperated.

I was doing the laundry and the washer quit so I went to take a basket of clothes to the laundromat and as I reached in to take a handful of clothes out her head popped out. She had stowed away under the clothes and thought she was special for getting a ride somewhere the others hadn't.

Oscar came here with 3 others a few months ago and he had a surgery due to a bowel problem. He had lost most of his hair and was a sight to be seen. Today he weighs over 5 pounds and is referred to as a rabbit dachshund. He is very small in comparison to the others but is very easy to love.

When Oscar first came here I thought I had lost him as he was very small. I had a pair of pink furry boots and discovered he had gotten in one and got stuck all you could see was his little tail wagging.

Sammy is pure male and usually the source of trouble. He tries to bully Oscar and often gets into it with Conner. Sammy is a bundle of energy who just desperately wants to be loved and is the hardest to house break.

Every moment with Sammy is funny.
|

Conner loves to growl and hates to be moved when comfy. He is very needy when it comes to love and needs to constantly be next to someone.

|
Was listening to music when an oldie came on. Hello Dolly which got Conner to growling in tune to the song. Now we sing it together.
